Status of Coal Resources in India during Last 5 years. As a result of Regional, Promotional and Detailed Exploration by GSI, CMPDI, SCCL, MECL, State Govts. etc., the estimation of Coal resources in India reached to 319.02 billion tones. The increase/up gradation of Coal resources in the country during last 5 years is furnished in table below:

This means that there is enough coal to last us around 150 years at current rates of production. In contrast, proven oil and gas reserves are equivalent to around 50 and 52 years at current production levels. After centuries of mineral exploration, the location, size and characteristics of most countries' coal resources are quite well known.

The United States as a whole has more recoverable coal resources than any other country on the planet-- over 262 billion tons-- enough to last over 200 years! Long after the rest of the world's coal, petroleum and natural gas reserves have run out, America will still have enough coal to satisfy its energy needs.

• Coal: 119 years (depleted in 2128) Fortunately, besides proven reserves there are still 'probable' and 'discovered' reserves. These may become a part of future 'proven reserves' as new technology becomes available. Therefore it's possible that oil will last for another 100 years or maybe even more.

of the reserves are anthracite and bituminous (70%). The current global R/P ratio shows that coal reserves in 2018 accounted for 132 years of current production with North America (342 years) and CIS (329 years) the regions with the highest ratio. 18.5 14.8 24.2 2.0 5.8 34.7

World Coal Resources and Reserves. During the 1973-74 OPEC oil crisis there was a flurry of renewed interest in calculating American and worldwide coal resources. The coal resource-related terminology and definitions in use today date largely from that period. At the time it was not uncommon to estimate the world's total coal resource, including estimates from the USGS of 14.5 trillion tons ...

Oct 26, 2010· The last 5 years have seen growth average only 3.1% (presumably the global financial crisis did not help). Working with the ABARE estimate that viable coal reserves are 90 times 2008 production levels and assuming 3.1% annual growth in production, the reserves will in fact only last for 43 years!

World Reserves of Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas. Coal has been used since the industrial revolution but only in the last 100 years have huge quantities of oil and gas been removed from underground reservoirs. Oil and gas are used as fuel energy in combustion engines and as "feed stock" for other industries raw materials for the manufacture of ...

Dec 31, 2016· At the current rate of consumption, the current U. S. petroleum, natural gas, and coal reserves will last approximately for 4.88 years, 12.2 years, and 258 years, respectively. It is important to note that the entire U.S. petroleum consumption is not coming from the U.S. reserves because we import more than one half of the consumption.

The prime coal-forming time on Earth was during the perfectly named Carboniferous period (300-360 million years ago). Coal burning is the main source of electricity in Australia. A particular problem is Victorian coal, while plentiful, is of low grade (brown coal) and is wetter than black coal, which causes extra pollution when burned.

World Coal Reserves. See also: List of countries by Coal Reserves. There are 1,139,471 tons (short tons, st) of proven coal reserves in the world as of 2016. The world has proven reserves equivalent to 133.1 times its annual consumption. This means it has about 133 years of coal left (at current consumption levels and excluding unproven reserves).

Jun 04, 2020· Based on U.S. coal production in 2018, of about 0.76 billion short tons, the recoverable coal reserves would last about 332 years, and recoverable reserves at producing mines would last about 20 years. The actual number of years that those reserves will last depends on changes in production and reserves estimates.

Gas will end by 2060 – 40 years time. Coal will last till 2090 – 70 years time. However, according to BP [5], earth has 53 years of oil reserves left at current rate of consumption . Figure 1 Energy reserves in billion tonnes of oil equivalent – Btoe [4]

The actual number of years that those reserves will last depends on changes in production and reserves estimates – eia.gov

Years of global coal, oil and natural gas left, reported as the reserves-to-product (R/P) ratio which measures the number of years of production left based on known reserves and annual production levels in 2015. Note that these values can change with time based on the discovery of new reserves, and changes in annual production
