I am thinking it would work cause in my case these is nothing larger than grains of sand to pull out. it looks like most of these dredges use a air compressor to agitate the dirt before the pump .
Jun 15, 2011· Being a commercial diver, I believe they would be using the equivalent of a small gold dredge or water lift if you will. If you have a semi trash pump and know your way around PVC fittings you could make one. Being that your water depth is shallow you could operate it and never get your head underwater. This is a 4" model it takes around 355 GPM.

No question that many gold prospectors would love to own a dredge, and dredges are very cool pieces of prospecting equipment that will allow you to mine some very nice gold nuggets, but the prices for new ones are really high.Don't forget however, that in the earliest days of dredging, there were no manufacturers, and all small suction dredges were handcrafted units made in someone's garage.
Yes, you can convert to a 2″ dredge and there is a video on our channel about converting the mini into a dredge. We strongly recommend that you run with the extension if you dredge. You also will need a high pressure pump when dredging. Semi trash pumps just don't cut it.
I doubt they would work as well on a big dredge, but if you have a big dredge you have already invested some money in your equipment, you would probably want a better pump. I do recommend using a suction nozzle with a trash pump. You don't get as much suction as with a high pressure pump.
